I absolutely loved this book! All the animals on the farm smelled the Farmer's wife making soup, and immediately the chickens started running because they thought it was going to be chicken soup. However, the chickie was sick, and was having a hard time hiding from the farmer. Eventually, the farmer caught up with him and brought him into the house. The chickie thought he was going to be cooked; however, the Farmer's Wife knew the Chickie was sick. Yes, she had made soup. However, it wasn't chicken soup! It was vegetable soup for the sick chickie!! ( )

Chicken little hears all the animals talking about the farmers making chicken soup. So he runs for his life until the farmers catch him and say they have made him vegetable soup since he is sick.

All the animals think the farmer wants to make chicken soup. So all the animals warn each other so they don't get caught and eaten. When they tell little chickie, he is to sick to run and hide. Finally the farmer catches him and brings him inside where he finds him vegtable soup. Little Chickie realizes that the farmer was only trying to help him feel better. ( )

This is a very cute story about a farm. The farmer’s wife just got her soup pot out so that can only mean one thing…chicken soup! The chickens all hide, except for Little Chickie who is having some trouble due to a sneezing situation. Every time the farmer gets close, Little Chickie sneezes and has to make a run for it. In the end, Little Chickie is caught by the farmer who takes him in the house where he learns that the farmer’s wife was making vegetable soup for Little Chickie since he has a cold. This will make a good read aloud. It has many pages however it has little text per page so it isn’t very long. ( )

When they hear that Mrs. Farmer is making soup, all the frightened chickens run for their lives, but Mr. Farmer finds Little Chickie, who has a bad cold, and he takes her to the kitchen for some nice hot vegetable soup. ( )
