All of the Max Axiom comics are exciting and a great way to encourage younger readers to learn about science! With the graphic novel/comic book style, readers will be engaged and will want to read more. The science facts included in the books are explained clearly and encourage students to further research the topics. ( ) Summary: In this fun graphic novel, Max Axiom is back to conquer the topic of photosynthesis. He shrinks down to smaller-than plant size in an effort to talk about plants and their leaves for our environment. This graphic novel discusses everything from how plants make light into energy, to how the plants breathe out oxygen that we, as humans, use. My Personal Reaction: I enjoyed this Max Axiom book just as much as the last! The pictures were vibrant and captivating, as usual in this series, and would be great for capturing the mind of a student struggling to focus or keep from being bored in school. This book, again, broke downvery complex vocabulary into simple terms and made it understandable even for me, who is completely inept in the sciences! Classroom Extension Ideas: !. Have students draw a picture illustrating the process of photosynthesis, the water cycle, or any other life cycle discussed in the story. 2. Have students write about what life on earth would be like if there were only a handful of plants and trees left. Would we even be able to survive? näyttää 2/2 ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
