I loved this book when I was in high school! I have always had a fondness for those last-man-after-the-apocalypse stories and this might well have started it. The idea of these people having to survive on the island, no help from anyone, dealing with all of their interpersonal struggles was fascinating to me. Okay, it's not great literature, but it makes an interesting survivalist story. ( )
