Autumn is a good informational book to read when children are learning about the seasons. This fun conceptual book covers the different thing that takes place in autumn. The book covers the different thing that happen in autumn like the change of weather, activities that take place, the change in plants and the changes in animals. There are many fun filled photographs in the book of the things that take place in autumn.
This conceptual book about autumn gives a very distinct description of the things that happen in autumn. I think the children will enjoy the photographs in the book because they very colorful and real. This informational book is also a good book for some of the beginning readers to read on their own.
After reading the book autumn to my pre-k class I would have them gather leaves to brings to school. This will be a good activity to involve the parents in as well. I will give them a week in autumn to complete this assignment. When the students return with all of their colorful leaves we will participate in an arts and crafts project. Each student will make an autumn wreath out of all the leaves they have collected from home.
After completing this assignment the children will take a journey exploring autumn on the season Web Quest I have designed for them. 4
