Mystery (2009)Another in anthropogist Brennan caught in another bad situation, this time trapped in somekind of buried alive situation. With flashbacks we learn how she came to be where she is. She is being upstaged by another member of the forensic team in Canada and is the victim of a staffer who feels under appreciated and shunned in his work.(PW)At the start of bestseller Reichs's outstanding 12th thriller to feature Dr. Temperance Brennan (after Devil Bones), Brennan finds herself bound and injured in an underground tomb. In flashbacks, Reichs fills in the how and why of the forensic anthropologist's deadly predicament. When Brennan and Andrew Ryan of the S?ret? du Qu?bec arrive in Chicago on business, she's accused of botching the autopsy of Rose Jurmain, a Canadian heiress. Knowing only that an anonymous caller instigated the investigation, Brennan is determined to uncover who's out to sabotage her. Back in her Montreal lab, Brennan soon realizes that not only is Jurmain's death possibly linked to the brutal murders of other elderly women but that whoever is out to tarnish her reputation refuses to back off. With her usual blend of cutting-edge forensic science and a stubborn, compelling heroine, Reichs manages to juggle several story lines without losing an ounce of momentum. 206 Bones was another killer novel by Kathy Reichs! This novel was much better than the past few. 206 Bones has many twists and turns I did not see coming, which made it an excellent read. It is not as quick a read as the others, but it was definitely worth the read! With unpredictable twists and turns, and frustrations Temperance must over come, I couldn't put this novel down! I would love if Kathy Reichs kept making books as good as this one! With less cliches, and more unpredictable twists and turns! Five out of five stars!
Reichs isn’t above a bit of melodrama, and her heroine is metaphorically tied to the tracks at one awkward juncture — until the forensic procedures take center stage, as they always do in this cleverly plotted and expertly maintained series. Sisältyy tähän:
Chicago forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan is accused of mishandling the autopsy and the case of a missing heiress from Montreal--an investigation that becomes more complicated when two more bodies of elderly women are found in Montreal and Tempe faces the very real possibility that a colleague has sabotaged work in the lab.
