It is ridiculous which adds to its quirky charm. I loved the plot and how goofy each character was throughout the book. Overall I'd say this is a very amusing picture book. ( ) In this story a gentlemen comes to court this young woman. After he had come a few times is found out this family had an extremely silly thought pattern, and he went in search of three sillier sillies before he would marry the girl. He indeed found three sillier people, well many sillier, the first person pushed her cow up the roof to eat the weeds and tied herself to the cow so they wouldn't fall-she died, the next silly was a young boy who didn't know how to put pants on and once the man showed him he went off to show everyone, and the third saw the reflection of the moon in a pond and "couldn't get her out" because apparently she fell in. He rushed back and married his silly, and coincidentally in the end the mallet the girl was worried about in the beginning fell down and hit him on the head anyways. He was find however, they had a little son, and lived happily ever after. This book is a folktale about a gentleman who meets a farmer’s daughter and would like to marry her. Unfortunately the farmer and his wife and daughter turn out to be very silly and the gentleman tells them that he will search the land and if he can find 3 sillies sillier then them he will come back and marry her. He does eventually find three people he deems sillier then the farmers family and comes back to marry the daughter. At the wedding party the gentleman is knocked on the head by a hammer and passes out under a barrel of cider. When the wife finds him he is deemed just as silly as the rest. This story was alright, I wasn’t too interested. The colors were fun but they way the words were positioned on the page made them a little hard to follow. There’s a lot of name calling in it that I didn’t care for either. 1. This could be used in a lesson to discourage judging others or name calling because you might be in their place some day. 2. Could be used in an English lesson as a creative writing prompt about a time when they have done something silly. A funny tale of a silly family who has an unexpected visitor. Eager to marry their daughter, the family is joyous upon the visitors arrival. The silly daughter becomes upset when she thinks about the couples future son being bumped on the head with a mallet. Her father and mother join in her sorry. The visitor declares the family the silliest of the sillies, and declares that he must journey to find three three sillier people than the family. Upon his departure, he promises if he does find three sillier sillies, he will return to marry the silly daughter. This story is just silly! ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
