Highly recommended series of historical fiction about the adventures of Torak and Renn and the tribes of thousands of years ago. Good character development as the series progresses, and interesting that the author also uses the viewpoint of Wolf. A tale of friendship, survival and loyalty, mainly in the form of individual quests in each book. A great way to get your kids to appreciate history whilst enjoying a good adventure. näyttää 2/2 ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu

I went to the in-store cafe and ordered a coffee and started to thumb through the first few pages. By the time I came back out my coffee was long gone and I had already flew through the first 10 chapters.
Considering this book seems to be aimed at boys about 10 - 13 I was more than pleasantly surprised. It deals with all the things most scary to a young boy, powerlessness, friendship, the strange beings that are girls their own age, peer pressure and loss. The main character faces challenges and overcomes unnerving odds.
I found it very entertaining and easy to read. It was suspenseful and left there were suitable surprises in the plot for the ages the novel was aimed at. So far I have only read the first part of this Omnibus (I am busy catching up on reviews). I look forward to reading the second two installments in this series and I'm most excited to be sharing it with the children in my life in the future. ( )
