The birds fly around looking for the best nest and they end up coming to the conclusion that their nest is the best of all. This book would be great in the younger grade levels to introduce birds and how they live - how they pick up sticks, how they make their nest, etc. Also, it can lead into a lesson about how what we have is the best of all and that we should always be thankful. Based on an Old English Folktale, this book is teaches the importance of careful listening, something other birds didn't do, as Maggie Magpie explained to the audience of birds how to build a nest. According to the folktale, and book, the reason for so many different shapes and sizes of bird's nests is due to the impatient birds who flew off before listening to all of the directions. Great story with fun learning activities at the end. näyttää 2/2 ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
In this retelling of an old English folktale featuring birds native to the U.S., Magpie patiently explains to the other birds how to build a nest. Some birds are impatient and fly off without listening to all the directions, however, and that is why, to this day, birds' nests come in all different shapes and sizes.
