An unorthodox view of the Book of Revelation from the Bible. The author rejects all historical or traditional interpretations of the book and substitutes astrology, pagan symbols and metaphysics. Almost the complete text of the book of Revelation is given (using the Authorized Version [KJV]--though not identified. The author equates the divine Lord of the Revelation (Jesus Christ) with Buddha, Mahavira and Lao Tzu in his introduction. He interprets the letters to the seven churches with "The Seven Ages of Man." The frequent use of the numbers 7 and 12 lead him to use astro-numerics to interpret other aspects of Revelation. Since I am currently teaching a Bible study on Revelation, I was intrigued by the marvelous pictures and art work, but I was both saddened and appalled by the twisting of Scripture to New Age and Eastern religious concepts. I find it significant that the author stops quoting Revelation with the 12th verse of the last chapter, omitting the verses cursing those who add to or take away from the prophecies of this book AND the final promise of the risen Christ: "Surely I come quickly." To which I answer with the Apostle John, "Even so, come, Lord Jesus." Maranatha. ( )
