The book humorously touches on the multiple interpretations of words. I think this is a great book. I have always loved all the Amelia Bedelia books. One reason I really enjoyed this book is because I think that the play on words is really funny. For example, Amelia Bedelia says that her father is a telephone operator. Her employers, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers, then say that he helps people make calls, but Amelia Bedelia explains that he does not help people make calls, but actually operates on telephones. I also really like this book because of its systematic setup. Amelia Bedelia introduces a family member and says what he or she does, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers make a statement about that occupation, Amelia Bedelia is confused about what they say and then corrects them, and then Mr. Rogers says “I see.” I think that the predictability is really helpful for beginning readers to keep on track with the story. I think I liked this book the most because it was about family. I related to Amelia when she talked about her family and pictures. I think children also love to share things about their personal life so they would really enjoy reading this book as well. Peggy Parish made me feel as though I was in the book. ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
