This tory deals with the death of a pet. This book explains the connection between a little boy and his dog. They dressed up together, and walked together. They were best friends. As the book goes on, the boy gets older and so does Jack. The decline of the dog is shown in the activities he is doing less and less of. I think a lot of students can relate to this book because many of them have pets. It good to teach them that their animals will not be around forever, but there are ways of coping with the loss, but also to still love their animals. The point of view is from the boy, but as past memories. The boy goes through his life with his dog in memories, as the boy gets older, so does the dog, but as the boy gets older and is able to do more, his dog is doing less and less. The boy has to learn to cope with the loss of his pet and he does this by remember some of the better times they spent together. "A Dog Like Jack" by DyAnne DiSalvo-Ryan was a sad story about a boy's dog passing away after they had been best friends for many years. This book could help a student get through a tough grieving period after losing a beloved animal that they've had all their life. It is hard for a person to relate that doesn't have animals, to know how close a family pet becomes, it truly does become a part of your family. This author did an amazing job by telling the story as years go by and even the dog ages in the pictures and by the words she uses. ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
