Just Me is about a little boy who mimics the movements of different animals he finds outside his home. But when he needs to run to catch up with his father, he runs just like himself – no need to imitate anyone else.
The illustrations are all black and white charcoal drawings. The lack of color and dark background around the subject on each page draw the eye to the little boy whose movements and expressions are authentic and endearing. ( )

This book is about a young boy on a farm who tries to emulate the walks of a number of animals. It was a 1966 Caldecott Honor book (i.e., a runner-up to the Medal winner) for best illustrations in a children's book. Pre-schoolers will love it.
