After their detour to Phindar, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan finally make their way to Gala to deal with their elections. The current queen has opened their government up to elections, hoping to dissolve their democracy. Her son is not happy with this decision since he feels kingship is his birthright. Turns out, however, that it might not be his birthright after all, since he has an older half-sister, Elan, who may be more entitled to the crown than he is. While Obi-Wan keeps up appearances of overseeing the election in the capital, Qui-Gon secretly makes his way to the hill people, where Elan lives, to inform her of her inheritance and try to convince her and the rest of the hill people to take an interest in the election. Drama and intrigue ensue and, go figure, Elan is pivotal in ultimately deciding the election. There was an interesting subcurrent in this book focused on the way that marginalized groups are seen by the majority and how misconceptions are misused by those in power who want to keep that power. A queen is dying. Her angry son is conspiring to thwart his planet’s elections and maintain his rule. But he might not be her only heir. There may be another bearing the elusive Mark of the Crown. Qui-Gon Jinn and young Obi-Wan Kenobi cane to plant of Gala as guardians of the peace. Now they are facing a deadly battle for power and royal position. The true heir must be found. The Jedi must find the way. näyttää 4/4 ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu

Aunque... "siempre más preguntas que respuestas hay".
