With that said, however (and the back of the book description notwithstanding) I wouldn't say this is a typical romance. The trilogy itself I think serves as the romance, and this is more a bridge between the first and third books in the series. But that doesn't mean that I didn't really enjoy this book. Though few and far between, the scenes between June and Jim provided the foundation for what I expect happens in book #3. (And the love triangle aspect was fairly minimal, which was just fine by me.) What this book was mostly about was the town itself, the relationships between others within it (all in themselves meaty enough to keep my interest), and June's own journey. If you're looking for a romance, this might not be the book for you. But if you're interested in a nice, solid story about small town life, than I'd recommend it highly.
