This is a counting book that also is based on some dance steps. This is an inviting way for children to learn how to count along with animals and dance steps. ( )

The author uses animals and different types of dance to introduce numbers. The book starts with one animal doing one dance and ends up with ten flamingos doing the tango. The words are catchy and use rhyme and rhythm. I would read this to a younger class when teaching numbers. ( )

I loved this book! This book is awesome for the years spent learning to count. Such silly pictures with powerful messages. ( )

The book begins with an introduction of an animal, musical group. Each animal dances a certain number of times to a certain number of rhythms. For example, "9 rhinos do the rumba". It covers the numbers 1-10, and reinforces the previous numbers it covers. I would say this book is great for children between the ages of 3-5. The colorful and vibrant pictures of the animals would really capture a child's attention. This book would be great for a Math class. An early childhood teacher can use this to supplement a lesson covering numbers. Children with learning disabilities could benefit from this book because of the repetition of numbers. A teacher can also incorporate some physical activity to this. They can dance out to each of the dance moves that are covered. ( )
