The illustrations and layout of the book is what enhances the story. The story is half what mommies do best and half what daddies do best. The language of the book follows a descriptive pattern. Each sentence starts out with “mommies can or daddies can”, then it lists off many things they can do in your life. Each illustration goes along with what the text says. For example, it says “Mommies can take you trick-or-treating,” and the picture is the child and mother dressed up in costumes getting candy. On the daddies’ side, it says “Daddies can watch the sun set with you,” and the image is of the father and child watching the sun set through a window. The book pushes readers to think about how much their parents do for them and all the different activities they can do together. The child is believable and well-developed because every younger child goes through these phases of life with their parents. The message of this book is that parents don’t do just one thing the best, they can do a variety of things that can impact your life. Both parents are beneficial and people who help you grow into the person you are becoming. ( ) I was a huge fan of this book, because it helps describe what mommies and daddies do. There is a happy vibe to the story, and it helps children understand how their parents take care of them. I also really loved this book because it shows kids that mommies and daddies can do the same great things. It's sweet and fun to read. There is also a great amount of repetition, which is good for younger children. The illustrations are filled with bright and warm colors. The lines around the images are dark, to emphasize what is really occurring in each picture The book would be fiction, but has elements of non-fiction. I feel like this book helps children deal with different feelings. This book also has a great component: it is a flip book, that presents mirrored texts. ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
