I mean, it was decent, but being a collection of a typical monthly comic, it means that every issue has block of introduction dialog reminding the reader who people are, which is fine if you are reading it monthly, but in a collected work is just feels like the author thinks you are an idiot. Can't be helped though, a drawback of the formulas they work with. ( ) Apparently Wonder Woman's universe has undergone a reiteration since I last read comic books featuring her. In the ones I read, she left Paradise Island (now called by another name) to protect Steve Trevor (and other humans) and took on her Diana Prince identity as part of that. She lived among humans--so now when she is confused by money, credit cards, and pumping gas, it just leaves me confused as to why. I was trying to remember if the Wonder Woman I read killed people in those storylines. I can't remember, but I have to think that she did at least once--so what was different about her killing Lord? And why did it cause such an identity crisis for her? And Wonder Woman swears now? (Not just the "Great Hera" from the books of my youth--though Hippolyta does say that--but human swear words. Especially odd when one realizes she can swear like a human but can't pump gas.) Many of the characters in this book were new to me: Circe, Nemesis, etc. It was nice to see Batman, Superman, and Black Canary make appearances and behave somewhat normally. I gave it a 3 because it is Wonder Woman--but if I had to rate it on the story alone, it would have rated much lower. I don't think superheroes is Piccoult's specialty. This was the first wonder woman comic I've ever read. It may have been a mistake to read one by an author more accustomed to writing novels rather than comics. The story just didn't have a great flow to it, and I could have done without the painfully obvious and cringe worthy flirting. And some of the frames were just very...still. During fight sequences it looked like posing, rather than a moment in action. So overall, I was just very disappointed. Some of the art was lovely, but I am off to find another Wonder Woman title to catch my interest. ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
