It is a rhyming poem with each end word rhyming. The wizard changed objects into animals and animals into clouds of smoke. He even turned a kid into a lizard. The author also used description when describing something specific. Like, "wrinkled skin", "tangled beard", "scarcly eats", "cheeks are gaunt". ( ) This book is about a wizard and the spells that he puts on different things. I would say that this is a fantasy book because it makes it seem like magic is real. The wizard is able to change a toad into various things, which cannot happen in real life. I would not say that it is the best quality book nor does it have the best plot, but it has great poetry in it. The rhyming of the sentences capture the reader and flow well. I would use this book to teach 3rd or 4th grade about poetry. It sounds trite to say that the illustrations took my breath away, but they did indeed. I read this to our little neighbor girls and they smiled and giggled and wanted to read it again and again. A nasty wizard who lives in a tower turns a frog into six various transformations. There is a great deal of poetry and a rhythmic flow to the text. Highly recommended! ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu

An illustrated, rhyming tale of a wicked wizard and his evil deeds, as he uses "elemental sorcery" to change a bullfrog into a series of objects, from a flea to a flame. Kirjastojen kuvailuja ei löytynyt. |
