My 7 year old granddaughter gave this to me. I have the feeling that she did not herself read it, and I'm glad if she hasn't. The story is romantically charged - a 16 year old girl involved with a boyfriend about the same age; they love to be in each other's arms, etc. The story's premise is based on lying to her parents and the heroine has a lot of angst about that, but nonetheless. Her best friend seems overbearing and dismissive. There is a lot of simply rude behavior. The emotions seemed stilted, every one of them - rage, delight, fear, love. To top it all off: the story is boring. Pg. 205 and I am giving up.
