Margaret is in the third grade class where all the students are her friends excpt for Tommy. She is determined to make him her friend also, but Tommy doesn't like Margaret. He says, "Anything Margaret can do, I can do better." Then they have to work together to come up with an idea for the school carnival to see which class can earn the greatest amount of money to buy gym equipment. So, they work together on the idea and later become friends. in this heartwarming book, little Margaret uses crutches and wheel chair to move around but she can do a lot of amazing things with her hand: she was very good at balancing. but everything she did, was nothing to Tommy one of her classmate who came back to his sense during a school carnival event that little Margaret was able to organized the best selling carnival activity for the school fund raising. A story about disability and handicap of a young girl in a wheelchair. Story provides opportunity to explore from the view point of a first grader who is uses a wheelchair. Readers are able to gain an insight of a first grader and how she functions and still but slight different. Story provides further opportunity for children to understand about the first graders handicap, appropriate interaction and support for individuals with similar handicap. Age: 3-5 Source: Pierce County Library, King County Library This is a sweet, simple story about a girl who is really (really!) good at balancing things, and makes a very long domino chain for her class fair. The fact that she uses a wheelchair is barely mentioned, which I thought was a nice touch. There's not much to *say* about this book, but it'd make a good addition to most people's libraries. näyttää 4/4 ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
