This book is definitely not a buy, only for hardcore fans of the series and even then you wouldn't enjoy it. The plot is extremely predictable and by reading the first few chapters you will know what happens to the enemies. Knowledge of Starcraft is not required and if you want to know about Starcraft, just play it... Don't waste your time with this 'bs' book.

When mysterious artifacts start appearing on various planets Dominion government decides to send archeologists to investigate. Jake Ramsey and his team end up on a remote world investigating a “temple” as artifacts are beginning to be known. Soon he will find himself merged with alien intelligence and from that point on his life will change forever.

Very interesting novel, quick paced and, to my joy, knowledge of Starcraft game is not required :) which is great because everybody can read this novel and enjoy. Characters are great (including the mysterious alien intelligence).
Yes, you might say that storyline is predictable (to a certain degree ;)) – but, hey, can anybody say that all those SF/Fantasy books out there are so original :) and let us not forget that this is book 1 in planned trilogy.
If you like space opera and you like Starcraft (as it is case with yours truly :)) then give it a try. I think you’ll like it.
