This children's book was a winner of the Caldicott Medal in 1940. I read this as a child in grade school. The "look inside" feature at Amazon reveals several of the pages, with their unique style of illustrations. I see that the text offers a saccharine view of young Abe and his upbringing, as one would expect. How interesting that it is still available, ~85+ years after the original printing. Great book, for kids and adults alike. The story is written in a simple, straight-forward way that engages the youngest child to adult. I enjoyed this book written about Abe Lincoln. The information was factual as well as interesting to keep the reader involved and interested. The author was factual and it's well written. I think the authors did justice to a such a compelling and inspirational American statesman.this book does the job in a way that’s very accessible to children. Winner of the 1940 Caldecott Medal, this book is all about Abraham Lincoln and his life from a small child to an adult when he becomes president. This book is beautifully written and showcases Abe and all he accomplished to get to where he ended up. ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
