Along with recipes that were mouthwatering, there were interesting antidotes about growing up in Cajun country in the 1920's, 30's and 40's. Many of the recipes I will not try. They are either too spicy or strange for my family, too hard or expensive to find ingredients for, or too complicated to be worth the effort.
