I enjoyed reading this novelization since it is one of my favourite horror films. I always found it funny that Ichabod is a detective but squeamish about blood but I share his fear of spiders.
Unfortunately the original story by Washington Irving doesn't really eve mention the headless Hessian soldier (a German soldier) I found it interesting whenever he did mention the headless horseman, but then the story went back to trivial minute details about things that weren't very important in the story. The original story was very boring and frustrating to read, so I was disappointed. There were images from the film included in the book, but it would have been more interesting if there was a picture of the headless horseman with daredevil his stallion or of Ichabod. ( )

This is the novelization of Burton's movie Sleepy Hollow. It fleshes out some things a bit more, gives Ichabod inner dialogue, but follows the movie very closely. There are a few photos from the movie. ( )

I ended up not reading the novelization and only the short story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving, so the rating applies to the short story only. ( )
