Kristine Kathryn Rusch (editor) (Harlan Ellison, Bruce Sterling, Gregory Benford and David Brin) ( ) The Littlest Jackal - Bruce Sterling. Meh. Weapons Dealer, Inept terrorists, annoying lead character Uncle Gorby and the Baggage Ghost - Leslie What. This is another annoying story about a sad lady who is alone, with a goldfish and a neighbor kid to keep her company. The Roosevelt Dispatches - Mike Resnick. This is a take on the War of the Worlds, from the perspective of Teddy Roosevelt who encounters the aliens on Cuba. A Cure for Baldness - Ron Goulart. This one is fun - A man working at a dead end job makes a deal with a demon... and it works out! Midnight in the Sunken Cathedral - Harlan Ellison. Meh. Too much metaphor, not enough substance. Celestial Mechanics - William Shunn. This is another fun story - this time, an angel waits at a mechanic shop, waiting for his planetary system to be fixed. A Scientist's Notebook - Gregory Benford. Didn't Read. Paris Conquers All - Gregory Benford and David Brin. The Second War of the Worlds story in this anthology. This time, featuring Jules Verne. Again. It was well written, but not very interesting. After a Lean Winter - Dave Wolverton. The third War of the Worlds story. This is a more interesting story - A Martian is caught by a bunch of prospectors in Alaska. The story is sad, melancholy, and totally scary. näyttää 2/2 ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
