The strong point of this book was its inclusion of patterns that someone can knit on straight needles, such as a novice still working up to double-pointed needles. The weakest point was the lack of info on knitting in the round. It's a good beginner book, for sure. It has beautiful photos of basic techniques. ( )

Very nice book with wonderful pictures to help the novice sock knitter master the basic techniques. The one drawback that disappointed me was the Circular Knitting section. She talks about double pointed needles & "Magic Loop" but has no information about knitting with 2 circular needles. I have been knitting socks for over 50 years & using 2 circular needles revolutionized my sock knitting life. ( )
