This book is almost exactly like the first Gump book, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Again, we see Forrest getting into outlandish situations, such as helping invent New Coke and playing the junk bond market with Michael Milken and Ivan Boesky. This book, while not up to the standards of the original Gump book, is still worthwhile reading. ( )
Groom's post-Zemeckis sequel unfortunately reads more like a sequel to the movie Forrest Gump rather than his original novel, which is a shame. It lacks the bite of the Forrest Gump novel, and is instantly forgettable. Meh. ( )
A sequel to the book "Forrest Gump", in which Winston Groom brings the book up to speed with the movie, and continues a now-broke Forrest Gump's misadventures across the American landscape of the 1980's. Not as poignant as the original, but a fine comic read nonetheless. ( )
