Although Traesa Killdare is a grown woman now, the discovery that her adoption wasn't finalized sends her reeling. Especially when her beloved grandmother dies and the only siblings she's ever known exile her from the family property without a penny to her name. Wilson Pollard works hard for the best interest of his law clients, even those who think a marriage would make him more "suitable" in his career. And when the beloved granddaughter of a recently deceased client comes to him for help, he knows he must do whatever necessary to make her situation better. As each of their circumstances worsen, a marriage of convenience seems the only answer for both. Traesa can't help but fall for her new husband-the man who's given her both his home and his name. But what will it take for Wilson to realize he loves her? Will a not-so-natural disaster open his eyes and heart?… (lisätietoja)

This is a nice romance with just a bit of intrigue. I like how Wilson and Traesa learn to like each other as they learn what love is. This has a bit of danger and there are some twists and turns and this shows how we should try to get along with family and learn forgiveness. I received a copy of this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will. ( )

Adoption can be a tricky road for a child to work through. Much baggage can come with the adoptee, especially if she is old enough to remember life before the event. A Heart’s Forever Home, #3 Love’s Road Home, by Lena Nelson Dooley deals with the adoption issues of a young woman. Theresa Hilliard (Traesa Kildare) has traveled to Texas on an orphan train and has been adopted. Traesa is disowned when her beloved Abuela and guardian dies. Frightened, the former rich girl turns to the family’s young lawyer, Wilson Pollard, for help. A marriage of convenience ensues, but will it keep Traesa safe or endanger her heart?

This is a quick read perfect for a cold, rainy day. A Heart’s Forever Home can be read as a stand-alone novel, though part of a series. I enjoyed getting acquainted with Wilson and Traesa. While I found their situations realistic, as well as their responses, I didn’t feel they were totally three-dimensional. I did appreciate that Wilson knew where to turn when the marriage hit obstacles, as this genre requires. I love how teachable both Wilson and Traesa are. Wilson in his character, and Traesa in humility learning jobs that would have formerly been below her. Yet the marriage benefits so much from these malleable spirits!

Family. How important that sense of belonging and love is. Dooley illustrates this well with Traesa’s character.

A large part of the book centers around a particular danger that is only partially cleared up. While real life is messy like that, I wanted the characters to admit that they either accepted an assumption or would always be looking over their shoulders.

Dooley brings to light a controversial idea that the wife needs to obey her husband. While I feel like this is Biblical, not all agree, nor want to adhere to this idea. Dooley does a great job of showing how both husband and wife need to respect the opinions of the other, for the marriage to work.

Traesa Kildare finds herself forced from the place she has called home since arriving in Fort Worth on an orphan train by the man she called her brother. Wilson Pollard serves as the family’s lawyer and finds himself tasked with keeping Traesa, her sisters, and the estate safe. I loved discovering how the relationship between Traesa and Wilson moved from client/lawyer to a marriage of convenience to much more. The author created an amazing storyline that kept my interest.

The story took twists and turns that kept my interest. My only desire would be to read more about Traesa, Wilson, as well as the rest of the characters in this story. So check out this book for yourself.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own. ( )

This has been a very enjoyable story to read. It was easy to feel like part of the story by the beautiful writing. The author does a wonderful job of making each character come to life. The tine period is interesting as we follow along on a journey that demonstrates the compassion and love that one man has for his bride.

Traesa has a good life living in a mansion where she has been since she was adopted from the orphan train. I have always been intrigued by this part of history. It is hard to believe that children were put on a train hoping that someone would adopt them. Traesa has been blessed with a family that has cared and loved her.

Things take a dark turn when Traesa’s brother storms into the house one day. He brings with him a sense of danger and unleashes it on Traesa. Finding herself homeless she turns to the family’s lawyer for help. It can’t be true that she was never adopted and she has to prove her brother wrong. Everyday that her brother resides over the mansion, her fear rises for her safety.

Wilson wants to help Traesa prove that she was adopted and offers his help to her. I thought Wilson was a gentleman with a big heart. I was very surprised at the turn of events that find Wilson and Traesa joining in a marriage of convenience. Wilson’s desire to protect Traesa is heartwarming and his willingness to marry Traesa was emotional. I loved how the author brings these two people together as they work to find papers to prove who Traesa is.

For me the best part of the story is when Wilson seeks spiritual guidance for his marriage. He wants to follow what God has ordained marriage to be. Wilson shows how much he wants this marriage to be more that just a convenient type but more of a Godly marriage.

As they travel across country I loved how the author describes the beautiful flowers of Texas. I live in Texas and liked reading about the bluebonnets and other flowers that Texas is famous for. I think this trip allows the couple to become more comfortable with each other. Their stay with Wilson’s family in New York brought Tresa a sense of belonging when Wilson’s family welcomes her with open arms.

I really enjoyed this story and hated to see it end. It has a lesson in hope, trust and listening to God that allows the two main characters to follow their heart. I am left with sone unanswered questions which I hope the author addresses in the next book. Overall a clean, historical read that brought out the importance of having God in your marriage and trusting Him to keep you safe.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion. ( )

A Heart's Forever Home is the third book in the Love's Road Home series. This story is a nice stand alone story as well. This is a well written story of a girl who was part of an orphan train. With the passing of those who supposedly adopted her, her adoption is being questioned. This story is filled with suspense and family situations. There were a few twists in the story that kept me wondering what would happen. I enjoyed reading this story and the devotion Traesa had toward her adoptive family. I enjoyed the determination Traesa has as well as the care Wilson gives to her and her family. I appreciated the honest thoughts Traesa had towards their small home after living in a large home of a wealthy family. The thing that stands out most to me in this story is the help their pastor gives Wilson about marriage.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review. ( )
