For most photographers the picture is the end product of the creative process. For Catherine Anderson, it's just the beginning. In a wide array of projects using techniques from Photoshop to needle and thread, she shows beginner and experienced photographers alike how to turn their pictures into handmade objects of art-from books and collages to customized greeting cards. Catherine Anderson basically explains three different ways in which you can showcase your creative gene: through the camera, with different photographic challenges; at the computer through the use of Photoshop prowess; and at the table with fun crafting ideas. Bottom line: challenge yourself to inspire others.
One of the challenges that I have already taken up is the Alphabet challenge, which incorporates taking pictures of things everywhere that look like letters (and no cheating...you can't take pictures of actual letters!). Put them together, and you have an entire alphabet. Use that to create crafty words and phrases for yourself and others.
If you're looking for that jolt of creativity, look no further than those around you. See what they do, and use that as your catalyst to challenge yourself. ( )
