I read this book via an Amazon KU [KINDLE Unlimited] download.

We all go through our daily routine without overthinking what we’re doing. But how many of us, as Christians, wind up doing something our Lord has inspired us to do?

If we do wind up getting inspired to do something for our Lord, we need to keep in mind what we read in 1 CORINTHIANS 15:58 [NKJV]:

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

Reading/reviewing all of the nonfiction Christian books I did in 2019 [118 of the 264 books or almost 45%] inspired me to publish my first two Christian books on January 11, 2020. These two books inspired me to start my Christian blog, “Trying to Be a Good Christian Woman” [first on Blogspot and then on WordPress]

Working on these two endeavors keeps me quite busy and is quite rewarding in its unique manner, which at the same time fulfills what COLOSSIANS 3:23-4 [NJKV] is telling us to do:

“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”

When I attempt to do any of my Christian writing endeavors, I can’t keep going over and over what I am doing since I have become too familiar with what I’ve done, and I might miss something that needs to be corrected. I put everything aside for a period of time and then return to what I’m doing with a fresh set of eyes.

Just as I like to use a fresh set of eyes in what I’m doing, author John W. Bullock wants his readers to do the same thing in their relationship with the Lord. Being overly familiar with Scripture, he feels they are missing out on how amazing the Lord is. His writing takes readers into a better understanding and appreciation for the words of the Lord by giving them a fresher insight into what the Lord is saying by allowing them to see things through his knowledge of Scripture, or in other words, a fresher look at the Scripture they’re familiar with, through a set of eyes, naming his.

In the secular world, a proverb states familiarity breeds contempt, which means extensive knowledge of or close association with someone or something leads to a loss of respect for them or it. For wanting to enlighten his readers with a new understanding and appreciation for the words of the Lord, I’ve given Mr. Bullock 5 STARS for his endeavor here. ( )

You may have developed your own vision on Christian tenets and beliefs, convinced that you're right (orthodox). In Seeing With Fresh Eyes Sin, Salvation, and the Steadfast Love of God, John W. Bullocks dares to let the Bible itself speak about the purpose of two creation stories and the cause and consequences of listening to a serpent in the Garden of Eden. Bullock continues to help you see with fresh eyes what Scriptures tell us about Cain and Abel, Noah, Moses, and Jesus Christ. Was it God who punished His Son? What was Christ anxious about in the Garden of Gethsemane? Why were there two cherubim in Jesus' grave?

Is praying a sinner's prayer enough to get saved? What does it mean to follow Christ? Whether you're a freshman in Christianity or born and raised in a Christian family like I am, I bet that this book has many eye-openers and assists you in rediscovering the steadfast love of God, the true meaning of salvation, atonement, and being freed from sin. Discussion questions are listed at the end of the book. I'm thankful for the many pieces of food for further thought and Bible study. ( )
