"Any story that begins with a library is bound to be an excellent tale."

My interest was captured with the first sentence, and my fascination never waned, as I read this new book by Pepper Basham. Hope Between the Pages is a historical fiction novel told in split time, and each story is a beautiful testament to the power of love. Basham fills this book with wonderful characters, two lovely romances, and a strong thread of faith woven throughout its pages. A Book Goblin and a Library Fairy add a fun touch to her stunning tribute to the written word, and the suspense and historical detail will certainly appeal to readers who enjoy these genres. There are many scenes that require tissues, and others that leave you yearning for that same love and devotion. Hope Between the Pages is part of the Doors to the Past series and I can't recommend it enough. It is a book meant to be kept and read again!

I received a copy of this book from Barbour Publishing via Celebrate Lit. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts. ( )

A bookstore, a split-time story, threads are woven together into a wonderful story all occur within the pages of this book. The story of Sadie and Oliver along with Clara and Max captivated my attention. I despised setting this book down. I craved to know the ending. The story unfolded at a pace I appreciated for the type of book the author created.

Containing mention of fairy tales, a book fairy, the Biltmore Estate, and Asheville (a place I called home for two years of college) drew me into this story. Sometimes family members make life hard and Sadie discovered this for herself. But the story comes together in such a beautiful way. The setting and characters blended together in a way that made me feel as though I was there and actually knew the people involved. So if you enjoy books with fairy tale-type endings, check out this book for yourself.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but it in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own. ( )

Pepper Basham combines history and present day in her first dual-time novel, and what an absolute delight!

From the library at Biltmore Estate in 1915 to a little independent bookshop now and England (in both timelines), a mystery is unraveled in its own fairy tale-esque way, with villains and princes and maidens who find their true loves.

Hope Between the Pages is built around books, but its foundation is set upon kind, generous, and caring characters I couldn’t help but fall in love with. From Sadie and her joy in sharing with others to Oliver who knows his heart and doggedly pursues its deepest desire and Clara with her love for her family to Max with his constancy, these characters are ones who have carved themselves a place among my favorite fictional friends.

Disclosure statement: I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own. ( )

What I think you should know:
This is a beautifully haunting story of love and loss. Growing up relatively close to Biltmore I am always intrigued by the magic surrounding the estate, so I was super excited to read this story. Basham weaves together the timelines seamlessly allowing the stories to meld perfectly together. Clara has been surrounded by love and books all of her life, with stories taking her a million places. I loved how she found her stepped out of her comfort zone to save her family legacy. Max was also a fascinating character. The Library Fairy and the Book Goblin, OH My Heart, their story gave me so many feelings. Oliver looked past the expectations of a person and saw what they really were. Sadie’s strength and love is beautiful, the lengths that she went to protect those she loved is inspiring. This book had me grinning, laughing and sobbing. I look forward to reading more books in the series and I will always choose to read more books by Basham.

Hope Between the Pages is a dual timeline story by Pepper Basham. This is part of the Door to the Past Series that is written by different authors and are stand alone stories. This story covers the history of the family that has owned a bookstore for three generations and is now on the brink of losing it. Clara is now the young family member running the store and is searching everywhere to find the deed.

I really enjoyed reading this good clean story. It has mystery, suspense, faith and romance all in one quick easy to read story that kept me wanting to find out what the outcome would be. I enjoyed reading of Clara finding out the history of her father’s family. I really loved that Clara could now know the truth behind who her ancestors really were and how the family came to be the way it is. This story gives so many good life lessons; such as not keeping secrets, keeping records and living your life. I admire the devotion Clara has to her parents and how she puts of living her life for caring for them.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. This is my honest review. ( )
