I don’t understand why this is a rhyming story, it doesn’t feel like a good fit for the content for me. ( )

I would use this book in K-1 setting, and use as an encouraging note for these young readers who feel frustration as they are learning how to read and write.

This book would be good to use in primary and intermediate. This book is a true story about Aaron Douglas Slater who is a muralist, graphic artist, and painter. In this story and real life he struggle with dyslexia. It talks about how Aaron had difficulty reading and coming up with stories. Through his struggles he turns to art as a way to express himself and tell a story. He learns to celebrate being creative and starts to realize that his art does make a difference. This book would be great to use in the classroom to talk about celebrating our uniqueness. This would also be a great book to give a child who is dyslexic. ( )
