This is a very simple story about vegetables and how they grow, told through the eyes of children planting a garden. This definitely qualifies as postmodernism because the point of view changes from above, straight on, and below; the words move around the page and often reflect their meaning (for example, "Water splashes around and around," is written with the words along a wave line); and the graphics are bright, full-page, and invite the reader to explore the details. This would be a great book to read in the spring, or to start a unit on gardening or healthy eating, or just for a fun rhyming book. ( ) From seeds dropping into soil to corn bursting from its stalks, from children chasing butterflies to ants burrowing underground, everything in this vibrant picture book pulses with life —- in all directions! Sprightly illustrations set the mood for a rhythmic text that follows nature’s course to a feast of backyard bounty. ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
