"Apollo & Daphne: Masterpieces of Greek Mythology" gives detailed biographies of many different Greek/ Roman god/goddess. This book is about a God named Apollo who teases Cupid. Cupid therefore shoots Apollo with a golden tip arrow to make him fall in love with Daphne. But, Daphne has been shot with a lead tip arrow which makes her despise love. Apollo tries everything to get Daphne to fall in love with him, but she ends up making her father turn her into a tree. Apollo is upset, but promises to never let her rot. The theme of this book is love and friendship. I would not know how to use this book for a lesson plan, but would just have it in my library because it has a good message of not judging a book by its cover. Everybody can love a person for different reasons and Apollo loves Daphne still even though she is now a tree. This was a great informational book on the different gods and their relationships. I liked that it was written in a way that was easy to understand, especially for children who aren't familiar with Greek Mythology. The images were portrayed perfectly with the text, and it was an interesting fun read! näyttää 5/5 ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
