The book Mila Has Two Beds is a short story about a young girl whose parents are divorced. The story describes the differences between the two homes and even though she has two separate rooms, and a different colored toothbrush at her mom's house than her dad's, her parents love her all the same. This would be a great story to share in the classroom with students, especially for those who have a similar home life. It can be comforting to those students who have two beds such as Mila and they can relate to her. It also is good for students with parents who are together because it makes them aware of their peers that don't share the same lifestyle as they do and gives them a more diverse view of families.
