Fiction. Mystery. HTML:Bookshop owner and maid of honor Addie Greyborne vows to catch the killer who crashed her best friend's wedding . . .

It promises to be Greyborne Harbor's wedding of the year. The impending nuptials of Serena Chandler and Zach Ludlow will take place aboard his family's luxurious super-yacht, currently moored in the harbor and the talk of the town. But on the day of the wedding, a man's body washes up on the beach with no ID, only a torn page from a book in his pocket. As owner of Beyond the Page Books and Curios, bibliophile Addie is called in to identify the book, but she cannot.

The morning following the extravagant ceremony, a second body washes ashore and Addie has a sinking feeling that the two deaths are connected. While the guests are held on the yacht as the police investigate, at least Addie can peruse Zach's father's rare books library on board. A copy of Agatha Christie's first Hercule Poirot novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, provides a clue that the killer may still be on the shipâ??but narrowing down the suspects without becoming the next victim may prove a truly Herculean task . . .… (lisätietoja)

Serena is marrying Zach aboard his family’s yacht. She has had issues with his step-mother’s heavy-handedness, but is dealing with the added pressure. Addie is taken with the rare book collection on board in a climate controlled room. But she soon finds that all is not right with the collection. And when not one but two bodies of investigative reporters wash ashore, Addie is sure theft and murder are connected. This mystery is both intriguing and entertaining. It will take a bit of persuasion by Addie before others agree with her reasoning, but as usual, she is spot-on. Well written with delightful characters, read this series from the beginning to fully appreciate it. ( )

I love when you finish a book with a big happy sigh and immediately wonder when the next book will be out. That is exactly what happened to me with Under the Cover of Murder. I started this book when I woke up at 2 am and couldn’t get back to sleep. I thought I would read for a half an hour and be ready to go back to sleep. Ha! I read until I was finished.
I’m not going into the plot because you need to read the book. I’m always afraid I’ll give away something, especially when I loved a story so much. One thing I will mention is it takes place on a yacht. That was so interesting and fun! I did love attending the wedding of Serena and Zach, too. The time with Addie, Paige and Catherine on the yacht was super fun. I did not guess correctly as there was an amazing number of suspects who all had excellent reasons for making the list. My head was spinning! It was so much fun! Put this book on your TBR now so you get notified when it comes out this month. Better yet just go pre-order it.
*I received an advanced copy of this book. No review was required. I voluntarily reviewed this book because I truly enjoyed it and want others to. Happy reading!* ( )

Under the Cover of Murder by Lauren Elliott is the 6th A Beyond the Page Bookstore Mystery. This is not a standalone novel. A new reader will not know the various characters and their relationships. While I enjoy the setting of Greyborne Harbor, you can only have so many murders in one small town. I like that we get a change of venue in this book plus it is a good way to keep all the parties in one place. I enjoyed the vivid descriptions of the opulent yacht plus the clothing of the wedding party and the fantastic library. The whodunit was interesting with multiple suspects and misdirection. I like how books were incorporated into the whodunit. I was, though, able to identify the killer before the wedding took place (my mother says that I have read too many mysteries). The why took longer to find out. I must admit that I was happy to see the second victim get offed (I found this character to be annoying). Unfortunately, we are still stuck with Addie’s cousin, Kalea. You must extend your disbelief a little with Addie’s investigating. Addie does things she would not get away with in the real world, but it works in the story. I like how Catherine and Paige help Addie with the investigation as well as the murder board. The ladies uncover some surprising information. There is repetition of the case details when Addie shares with friends and police plus with Addie rehashing the information in her head (she gets to reviewing the case details in her head and forgets the world around her). I did not enjoy the amount of romance in the book plus I am not a fan of Addie’s relationship with Simon. Their relationship feels syrupy (best word I can think of to use). I prefer Addie with Marc. They seem to have a better connection. It seems that Marc understands Addie and he definitely cares for her. Readers of the series will enjoy this new addition. Under the Cover of Murder is a cute cozy mystery with wedding woes, shoe suffering, a difficult detective, surprising secrets, luxurious lodgings, and curious clues. ( )

Under The Cover Of Murder is the sixth book in the Beyond The Page Bookstore Mystery series by Lauren Elliott.

The day for Addie Greybourne’s BFF, Serena Chandler, and Zach Ludlow’s wedding has finally arrived. As Addie is about to head for the future in-law’s mega-yacht, Police Chief Matt Chandler asks her to come to the police station. After she arrives, he shows her a picture of a body that was found near the yacht and wants to know if she might know who he is. He also shows her a piece of paper that was with the body and asks if Addie knows where it might have come from. She relates that she has never seen the man and the scrap of paper appears to come from an older book.

Addie heads for the yacht to help Serena to get ready for her wedding. As they arrive at the salon where the ceremony will be held, Addie is shocked to see that there must be a hundred people in attendance, whereas about thirty guests were expected. Addie hopes that Serena will not turn around and leave, but the wedding goes on without a hitch. Then, at the reception, Lacey’s appearance, a former employee of Serena’s, had stolen money from Serena’s tea shop and disappeared. Addie gets Serena and Zach off on their honeymoon without Serena seeing Lacey. While Addie was having breakfast, the following day finds Addie and informs her that Lacey’s body has been found in seaweed near the dock’s piling where the yacht is being docked. Soon they are in Oliver Ludlow’s, the yacht’s owner’s, office. Addie is impressed with the books that are on the shelves there. Many of which appear that they may be very valuable. Addie is also surprised by Matt seems to want her help in the investigation. With her boyfriend’s, Simon, aid, some of her friends, Addie, begin to investigate the murders before any more people lose their lives.

It’s always lovely to visit the fine residents of Greyborne Harbor. This story is well-written and plotted. The characters are well-developed and believable. There were enough twists and turns that I was kept guessing until the end who the killer was.

I am looking forward the reading the next book in this series, To The Tome of Time, due out in October 2021. ( )
