I enjoyed this autobiography, it was engaging and felt like a real snapshot of childhood. His baby sister gets quite ill and needs to be hospitalized, this may be a cause for concern if you have been recently touched by child illness. She does recover.

(Read in both 2nd and 3rd grades) I cannot for the life of me understand why this book is used in elementary schools today. There are so many outdated terms and concepts, and the narrative is dull and lifeless. It offers nothing in the way of creativity or entertainment for this generation's children.

This is a cute continuation of Tomie's early years. It is a fun read and appeals to upper elementary students. ( )
