Something sinister is happening along the deserted Twentynine Palms Highway, a remote road in the desert outside of Los Angeles. She quickly suspects more women have disappeared in the same uninhabited area but there's nothing to tie their disappearances together until Jessica discovers a thirty-year-old murder that started it all. Trying to juggle her investigation and her feelings for her boss, this third installment of the Jessica Shaw series is a page-turner that doesn't let up until the "feel good" ending. I love this character. Jessica is rough around the edges but has a soft heart and a strict moral code to do the right thing. I've already ordered the fourth book :). I can't wait to see what she does next. ( )
