Perfect. From its characters and plot to its extension. ( )

Great to see how Mal and Cadan came together after seeing them in Sunny Side. I think I would have preferred even more, but this worked as a novella to show them falling quickly. I really enjoy the epilogues as the author does a wonderful job at really showing the HEA which feels more than a snippet. ( )

I started the book thinking I wasn't going to like the main characters, but they grew on me very quickly and I adored them by the end. ( )

So this mostly worked for me. I liked the humor, though I understand why some might have a hard time with it. I myself enjoyed it.
Everything was going well with the story, the characters, the progress, everything was fine. But it just got cheesier and cheesier until it melted my brain. ( )

This is the first romance I’ve managed to finish since the start of quarantine 8 weeks ago. 8 WEEKS of reading nothing but nonfiction about someone getting brutally murdered, because it’s the only thing my brain is able to process during this one prolonged panic attack we all seem to be living in.

Anyway, when Lily Morton’s latest newsletter landed in my inbox enticing me with a free novella I decided to give it a try.

Man, am I glad I did that. It hit me all over again why I read romance – for this feeling I was left with after I turned the last page, smiling, and feeling all warm and happy, and just good. That’s the first time in weeks I felt good.

Do yourself a favor: pause everything, close that twitter app, and just read this unabashedly happy novella, about a haughty model and a grumpy farmer, who inevitably shack up in a Cornwall farmhouse. You’ll be better off for it. ( )
