#1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines returns to Rosemary Beach one last time in this highly anticipated finale. Spoiled. Selfish. Rich girl. Villain. Slut. As the Prada-clad bad girl of Rosemary Beach, Nan Dillon has been called every vile name under the hot summer sun. Some of her reputation is deserved--she's never had to worry about anything but maintaining her perfect figure and splitting Daddy's private jet with her brother, Rush. But Nan is far from happy. Rush has another kid on the way and doesn't have time to catch up with his sister. Grant, the last guy she truly cared about, chose to be with her half-sister, Harlow, instead of her. And Harlow, who has never gotten over the way Nan treated her when she first moved to town, remains distant. So when Major asks her out, she jumps at the chance to date the gorgeous charmer. Though she doesn't know much about the sweet-talking Texan, and though it's clear he doesn't want to be exclusive, dating him beats hanging out with vapid socialites or watching Netflix alone at home. For a while, Nan deals with Major's playboy ways, but after he burns her one too many times, she takes off for an impromptu wild weekend in Vegas. There, she meets Gannon, a darkly seductive and oh-so-dangerous businessman who knows exactly how to handle her. With Major asking for a second chance and Gannon haunting her dreams, Nan has to decide who to give her heart to. But what she doesn't realize is that these players are involved in a much bigger game--and they're already two moves ahead of her.… (lisätietoja)

When I first started this book I thought I'd only end up giving it 3 stars. I didn't care for Nan and never have. She cruel for unnecessary reasons. Yes I get that she's never felt loved and what not but we've all had things that could make us like that so basically I felt like that was a bs excuse. I also didn't love Cope/Gannon when he was first introduced. The only shinning light was Major and even that wasn't too bright.

However, as the book went on I found myself being more and more into it. The story line was so compelling. Glines' really proved she could write just about anything rather it be the typical romance novels she's know for, a crime novel, suspenseful thriller or something more along the lines of 50 shades of grey. She did it all in this book. I love to see a author really push themselves past what they know they do well and she definitely did that with this book (actually the last four books of this series).

Spoilers ahead:

Ok this book is an emotional roller coaster that I wasn't prepared for. I went from slightly annoyed to pissed off to feeling sorry for Nan and Cope/Gannon to crying my eyes out over Major then back to being pissed and finally happy. Be prepared.

Nan: if you've read the previous books then you know Nan and more than likely your not a fan. She's catty and cruel all because she never had the attention or love from a parent. I still say that's not a good enough reason to act the way she did however, this book does show you how her mind works around these things. It was interesting. Then she met Cope/Gannon and became pretty obsessed with him and even gets herself pregnant just to have a piece of him.

Cope/Gannon: This dude has some issues...a lot of them. However, Nan brings something out in him that I was not expecting. Even though his love scenes were a little too 50 shades for my liking I get why Nan was attracted and wanted that in her life. He gave her something she never knew she wanted. In return she gave him something he never thought he could have.

Major: I'm kind of fond of him even though his a total man whore. He has a charm about him regardless. I thought it was kind of ridiculous that he thought he might be in love with Nan because that's just not his character. However, when he gets "killed" I cried while sitting at work only to find a few chapters later that my messed up make up was all for nothing. Then I got mad again lol.

Overall, this book is well worth the read. The characters have many layers that I wasn't expecting and the plot is loaded with twists and turns that you won't see coming. Abbi Glines proves she is one of the best in the game with this one. ( )

First off I am not a long time fan of this series. I've only ready this one and I came to it because I generally love a 'mean girl turns her life around' story. But this book just wasn't good. I kind of liked Nan in that you could tell much of her meaness had been because she felt unloved and was jealous of others who have found love.

But this story was just silly and frankly a bit creepy oh and stupid.

I couldn't tell if Cole and Major were bad guys or good guys. There was a lot of 'he's a killer' type lines thrown out there. They were watching her because they think she knows something about a french drug dealer and trying to get some info from her. But wait! all along they were surveilling her to protect her? And how is getting in her pants supposed to solve anything. So nope, suspense plot was a total fail. And I always think when this sort of thing happens in a romance novel about how sexy it is to watch someone on the toilet. And if they are watching her shower then they are watching her take a dump.

We knew way too much about Major who we could tell from the beginning was not going to be the guy she ended up with so why did he get so many POV chapters? And what's up with the end where he just keeps shooting the guy? I don't think properly trained government agents do that. Leads me to think that these two are also bad guys not MIB. He was a clueless goon.

We knew absolutely nothing about Cole except he was a killer. Was he an assassin? A CIA agent? A mercenary? What? We know nothing about him except his mom kicked him out when he was 10. I suppose we know he's not very nice in the sack.

Which leads me to the sex. Since we know nothing about Cole except he is lying to Nan and Nan knows even less, the sex scenes are just uncomfortable and wrong. He slaps her, chokes her and hurts her and she's just so desperate for love that she convinces herself that this is great sex she's having with a stranger and that she is falling in love. I know true masochists do exist in the world but that is not what is going on here as the author presents it. Then he breaks into her house and has sex with her. Come on, unless he's drugged her there is no way she thought she was dreaming. This is an adult not a 5 year old. Believe me when my husband rolls over in the night with nooky on his mind, I wake up.

I didn't believe the HEA. I think poor Nan was just ready to take anyone who paid any positive attention to her.

So all in all a pretty poorly crafted book. ( )

I have never hated Nan, so I know my opinion of this book will be in the minority. I don't want to say I like her, but I understand her. See why at The Book Disciple ( )
