I wouldn't like that because this woman can write steam. This book is very different from her other books. I'm always waiting for the mystery or suspense. Even though this book doesn't have that it still has a purposeful ARC. The surprise for me was seeing the connection to something that had been alluded to in a previous book. It was familiar but I couldn't place it until the EOBS and then it was an "ah-ha" moment. Her mind fascinates me and should really be an world wonder. Kali and Aiden were close friends from the time they were 8 years old. Along with Kali's twin brother, Kyle. Kyle didn't want Aiden and Kali to date so they respected his wishes. This story really portrayed the pain and guilt of losing Kyle in an accident. The push and pull of giving in and feeling guilty about it really brought the emotion. Although after high school Aiden and Kali didn't see each other for a long time, I did find it odd that he did not know basic information about her and her best friend didn't know she was a twin. Aiden and Kyle ran a business together and were best friends. How would he have never mentioned Kali or her job over the years? I was also confused a little by the messages but for me, it did not take away from the overall story.
About the narration - Emma Wilder and Christian Fox. Emma is great and I always enjoy her performance. Christian Fox was the exact perfect narrator to play Aiden. His ability to convey the emotion and turmoil he felt was incredible. It sometimes felt like JA Huss wrote the character to take advantage of Christian Fox's style. It was that convincing.
