I read this during a week in July when we didn't have power due to a monstrous freak thunderstorm that took out our air conditioner. Nothing like Southern fiction to make humid, 90-degree temperatures fairly bearable. I'm not even entirely sure how the stories did it, but I'm sure glad I had them that week. Read 'Live Bottomless', if nothing else. It's a little long for a short story, but whatever. ( )
