Book 2 of the The Bronze Horseman series, the saga of Tatiana and Alexander. The story continues with Tashia and her life in America, while Shura continues to languish in prison and in the war front. I personally think this is the best book of the two. I enjoyed a lot of the back story and flashbacks for both characters. Both characters have clearly matured from the first book. I am less inclined to strangle Tashia for her immaturity and Shura's stubbornness. Paulina is great with imagery and historical storytelling. She also does well with getting you emotionally invested with her characters. Despite the length of the novel, you continue to read through the book and root for both of them. Oh, my heart. ❤️ It’s been over a year since I read (and loved) The Bronze Horseman... I’m trying to pace myself with this series because I don’t want it to end. Book 2 did not disappoint. This is a love story, but it’s also excellent WWII historical fiction, beautifully written, and gorgeously detailed. This book gives way more of Alexander’s backstory, while also continuing the story where Horseman left off. So good! ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
"This has everything a romance glutton could wish for: a bold, talented, and dashing hero, a heart-stopping love affair!"-Daily Mail (London) Paullina Simons's internationally bestselling blockbuster The Bronze Horseman told the heart-soaring tale of a young Russian woman's transcendent love affair with a Red Army soldier during the siege of Leningrad in the dark days of World War Two. The epic story continues in Tatiana and Alexander-a novel of the enduring power of love and commitment against the devastating forces of war and the equally dangerous forces of keeping the peace. A sweeping, intensely compelling romantic historical saga, Tatiana and Alexander is a Russian Thorn Birds and a truly unforgettable reading experience. Kirjastojen kuvailuja ei löytynyt. |
