I myself come from a really small town (more a village, really) and while it's nowhere close to this level of coziness, there is some serious truth to some elements of small town living. Especially the gossip mill and everybody being in each other's business. While these books aren't really the pinnacle of literary genius, they are really feelgood and familiar. Now, while I love a good hate to love romance, I've got to say I really dislike it when the conflict of the story is mostly centered on (completely unnecessary) miscommunication. I like both Parker and Jamie, but most of their issues could have been resolved with one good discussion. However, that would have made a pretty short book, and I get that romance books live by a different set of rules from the rest of the stories. And, to be fair, it's not like miscommunication isn't a universal issue in real life often enough. I just usually prefer not being forced to read about that. In any case, these are solid, sweet romance books and I'll more than likely end up reading the fifth book as well, at some point. I was so glad to finally get Parker and Jamie’s book! There was so much animosity in the other books, and now I finally understand why. These guys have loved each other (and still do), but Jamie has been so mad at Parker for years that he moved away to college. He had a time putting things behind him and actually stopping to look at the whole picture. They didn’t communicate enough, and it got a bit annoying at times, but luckily they finally broke that chain and made everything work. They were a great pair, and I loved the ending. It was so sweet. I love visiting O’Leary and these awesome couples. I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC provided by LesCourt Author Services ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu

JAMIEParker Hoffstraeder is gorgeous, cocky, and totally irrational. He also broke my heart when he left town eleven years, four months, and twenty-eight days ago.Not that I'm counting. I don't mind admitting it: I was young. I got burned. I learned my lesson. But the guy swaggers back into O'Leary like he owns the damn place and suddenly I'm expected to welcome him to my town -- to my life -- like nothing's changed? Yeah, that I mind. It's only a matter of time until he's gone again. And there's no way I'll give him a chance to take another piece of me when he goes.PARKERJameson Burke is the most arrogant, infuriating human on the planet. He's also taller, broader, and impossibly hotter than he was before I left town. But, whatever. It's fine. I can handle it.Coming back to O'Leary was supposed to be like coming home. I hadn't realized that there's no statute of limitations on how long your first love and former best friend is allowed to hate your guts, or how much bad luck can befall a person in a short time. But, I can handle that, too... or at least pretend to.When Jamie and I are thrown together in a blizzard, though, everything changes in the space of one single, scorching night. Suddenly, I'm dreaming of a future I can't have, and he's stuck in a past he can't let go. It feels like we're playing with fire... And this time I'm the one who's gonna burn. Be warned, this is a story of two terribly obtuse males. You'll want to screech at them. I'd have been happier if this were a novella, but I did enjoy it (despite the sore throat). Risk and vulnerability ARE scary. But I hope most of us aren't this level of also-clueless. ( )
