Intended to be a coauthored memoir, Edie Windsor died before completion, leaving Joshua Lyon to figure out how to finish when her voice was so specific. His solution: to wrap up chapters in his own voice & with interviews with those who knew her. An interesting way of giving context to a fascinating woman‘s life. Windsor is famous as the widow whose court case opened the doors to marriage equality- but the stories of her wild-but-discreet youth and her relationship with Thea are by far the most engaging parts of the book.
