I liked him in that book so was excited to hear he is part of this series. Avery is from Brynne Asher's Carpino's series. It is a really good book, well written, lots of detail and plenty to the story. It's difficult when it's a novella to make it enough but this has been done well. There are appearances from the Mayson family and some of the Carpino's too. I was excited when I discovered a new book in one of my favorite series. I was invested. This held parts of the charm that the first three books held but it happened so fast. Its the downside of a novella. There was just so much potential to be a great book, if not the best of the series. Still it was nice being back in this world. I love that it feels like a KA novel but done in the Brynne way. Still good. Just really fast. (
