I know because it was the final installment that we would have a lot packed into this book....but.... but...

I've wanted Rush's love story. I wanted to walk in the glory of him finding his woman and making her his. I wanted her to be someone worthy.

Rebel is independant. Stubborn. Witty. Quirky. Loyal. And a true redhead with her fiery temper. Just what Rush is looking for.

Here lies the problem. Before we got the love story with side notes of what is going on in the world around them. For this couple they felt like the side note. They fell in love quickly. Fought often and had hot sex.....she also toed the line sooner than the others had but found good reasons to do so.

Everything they tried to do was interrupted by some catastrophe or another. I get it. I do. The end is near but still.....

There were things that just left a bad taste in my mouth. Naomi getting beaten and raped by Crank. I know she's a biatch of the highest order but really, is that the only way for her to find a way to get back to her kids and find a truce with Tack?

Benito. Okay I cheered when D, Maddox and Sixx put the screws to him. He lost everything and let's face it would have taken a lot of time and waaay too much money for him to ever be a threat again. So why did we need to know that he became fond of being taken and used by men....turns to selling himself and then when the Chaos movie comes out he offs himself. He was broken and gone why couldn't he just have stayed that way?

Beck, formerly known as Rosalie's SOB ex Throttle, was a surprise. After everything that happened Bounty has it's chapter closed down leaving the members scrambling what to do. Beck thinks that the club needs to rethink it's path and try to make amends for getting lost to the manipulations of Crank. Resurrection is born and Beck is elected it's new President. He comes clean about being an informant for Brock and just what he plans on doing. That would be warning Chaos that Crank has put a hit out on one of them, that they will be helping to guard Chaos and their old ladies and one at a time they take out the enemies.

Everything else was added and subtracted as needed. Yes it was good to have some loose ends tied up but at the expense of our favorite son. The one whose story we had been waiting for. I mean was anyone surprised when Tack is ready to retire the gavel that Rush is going to get it with the club's full backing? So they now live free and clean, cool. I like knowing that somewhere in my fantasy world all is right with the club and they are having families, growing stronger roots and building awesome bikes/cars. But I wanted Rush's story. We could have gone back a bit to see Tack & Tyra getting together through his POV to see how it affected him. What he learned from seeing the other brothers and his sister find love? What he went through before he finally decided to join the club and the differences he and Tack had about what direction the club should be taking. That's the story I wanted along with him finding his old lady.

Oh well, Chaos has moved on and so shall I. I'll go back and revisit because let's face it, theses guys are hard to walk away from.

As for me....time to take a break from KA. I haven't read her Honey series and I don't think I want to. (Yes, I know that is where I'll get more about Rebel and her family but seriously tired of BDSM books....everyone has one and not all of them are good.)

Rush is Tack's son, soon to take over as president of his father's MC. When he meets Rebel, that's it for him, he knows she's the one, now he just needs to keep her safe and convince her to stop gunning for the man who killed her friend.

Rebel is determined to get her friend justice and goes undercover to get evidence against him and finds herself endangered not only by him but by Chaos' enemies.

I delayed reading this book because so many voices were unhappy with it and I was afraid I wouldn't like it. I agree that there is a lot going on in this book but I really enjoyed most of this wrap up of the Chaos series. Loved Essence, she was a scene stealer and I liked seeing previous characters in this series as well as several from Ashley's other series. There's also a secondary romance and character turnaround with Throttle, now known as Beck as he works to make amends and get vengeance for his club.

While there was a lot I liked, there were things that just didn't seem to work, like Benito coming out as a submissive masochist and the way things ended for Benito. Both felt out of place and out of character. I also wish we'd had more time with Rush and Rebel, they had a great dynamic. This book didn't seem so much their story but secondary to closing the Chaos loose ends. There were also some editing problems I'm not used to seeing from Ashley's work.

Content warning, rape, abuse.

This is the conclusion of the Choas series.
Although each book has focused on a couple and their romance there has been an underlying theme/enemy in the background that Chaos and characters from other series, such as Hawk, Lee and Knight etc have been working to eliminate.
This book deals with Rush and Rebel but the style is different.
It is multiple POV, Hero and heroine plus other multiple characters.
The story does deal with Rebel and Rush but it seems at times to take a background to the dealing with the enemy Benito.
I wouldn't recommend reading this book as a standalone there is too much reference to previous events.
The romance is Insta.
There a lot of 'icky' moments, the background plot involved making porn movies and the baddies are really sick, I think the reader could have done without some of the details.
I felt the book at times lost its way and it felt that it jumped all over the place as it constantly changes POV.
Rush has enough interesting things going on with his history with his mother, his relationship with his father and Chaos without his story being lost among a bigger plot.
I felt the 'Honey' series has greatly influenced the writing of this book and that's not everyone's taste.
There are crossovers, Hank and Eddie appear at the start and that was great.
If you've followed the series then you will want to read this but it's not one I'd probably re-read.

I have loved KA books but I feel she tried the Honey series, it wasn't everyone's thing so she said that's fine but then put the elements of the Honey series in a well loved series that hadn't been connected with the Honey series stuff b4.
So if you weren't a fan of Honey but we're of Choas you ended up getting stuck with stuff from the Honey series to find an ending to Choas.
And it wasn't even that good, instead it detracted from a really good series, solid characters and the romance of what could have been a great story of a complex couple with lots of baggage.
I'm not sure I will read much more of her stuff if she continues down this path and that's a shame as I have been a huge fan and always do reread but I feel she's struggling.
You can see the evolution of her writing from the rock chicks to the unfinished hero series to then the Honey, there were touches of a Dom in Knight etc but the skill of a good author is being able to write different series under different genres not them all ending up going in the same direction.
Her writing excelled in the ex drama department but this need to redeem people so everyone gets along like a big happy family seems to be dominating her stories and I'm not sure it works, esp not in every book.
Sorry if my opinion in unpopular but it is what it is.... I hope after having time to digest and reflect my opinion will change cos she was a fantastic writer. ( )
