Translated and set to pictures, it is now able to be enjoyed in English as well. The Little Chickies squeal when they are hungry or cold and mama hen provides them with everything that they need. This simple text set to rhyme is perfect to read with your own little one, reminding them that you are there for everything that they will ever need. The text is in English and then the original Spanish, which I am well enough versed in to pronounce properly (I hope!). While a few rhymes were jumbled a bit in translation, most of the words seemed to translate directly, so this is also a good book to introduce Spanish to your little one. I do wish that the musical score was included right in the book so I could know the melody and be able to sing it as well! You can go to their website, however and play the song there. This book was received for free in return for an honest review. Very cute story. I do not speak Spanish, but this might be a great resource for ESL students. Something they might read with a teacher at school in one language, and at home with a parent in another (or vice versa). I think this could be a fun story for children learning or exposed to English and Spanish. näyttää 4/4 ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu

After Amelia turns 18, she leaves the orphanage to live on her own. After some stints in mills that treat women like cattle, she decides to meet up with the man who she rode with on the train to the circus; a very influential lobbiest. He decides to take her under his wing and teaches her how to influence people and to use her feminine charms instead of getting angry when men flirt with her.
He sends her to St. Louise, to see what doctors think of the upcoming vote in Congress regarding the Dept. Of Agriculture and pharmaceuticals. She meets a young man and has a trist with him for the two week convention, then leaves him there with no communication. He meets her later when he becomes a young Senator, and he gets mad at her for not caring about him anymore. She is not interested in a relationship. She is concerned with her job as a lobbiest.
Her big chance to shine comes when Congress is supposed to vote for the 16th Amendment, to allow women the right to vote. Only she doesn't know til very late that the Senator is playing against her to get the majority of the Senators to vote "no".
Her book is intelligent. She makes what may seem dull and boring into some of the greatest reading. I learned a thing or two while thoroughly enjoying the book. It is well worth the read.
Thank you to NetGalley for giving me an e-ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. ( )
