The paper is cut in ways to make the background but it doesn't take away from the story one bit. The story itself is the basic tale that does get boring to read. Overall I loved this because of the artwork. ( ) The Brothers Grimm Little Red Riding Hood is a classic fairytale that I am sure most people have heard. Only this version is a little different. This tale is about Little Red Cap who goes on an adventure through the forest to Grandmothers house to deliver wine and cake. Little Red Cap is stopped by a very cunning wolf who distracts her by sending her to pick flowers so that he can go to Grandmothers house and eat her. The wolf puts Grandmother’s clothes on and then eats Little Red Cap once she arrives. The huntsman then hears the wolf snoring so loudly as Grandmother that he realizes something may be wrong. He decides to cut the wolf open and he saves both Grandmother and Little Red Cap. I liked this version of the tale for two reasons; the illustrations and the plot. The illustrations in this version are very detailed and elaborate. The pages are die cut and patterned as well as having illustrations on them. The die cut adds an exclusive element to the story. I particularly like the illustrations where the wolf walks up to Grandma’s house and you can see Grandma sleeping through the window and you turn the page and you can see the wolf through the window from inside the house. The die cuts add a very cool element to this story. The plot of this story is very simple, as a traditional literature plot should be. The plot is easy to follow; a little girl needs to bring something to her grandma because she is sick. The plot teaches a simple lesson; listen to directions, as the last page suggests. In the end, everyone ends up happy and Little Red Cap decides she will listen to her mother for now on. The main message behind this story is to listen to your mother and I also think that it suggests not to trust strangers. I like this version of the story because it is different than the usual one you have been told. näyttää 4/4 ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
