When it comes to relationship conflict, jealousy and interested third parties coming between the MCs can get a little tricky for me in books, because often the only thing they achieve is to frustrate me to no end.
With Jason and Alex it wasn’t really so bad, Jason’s jealousy wasn’t irrational or ugly, Alex wasn’t oblivious and the meddling third party wasn’t as bad as he seemed at first. I’m also thankful there wasn’t a big misunderstanding, but Jason and Alex’s inability to communicate properly, their tendency to postpone serious talks and the conveniently timed interruptions when they finally decided to talk did get frustrating after a while.
Aside from that, I enjoyed this book more than the previous one, I particularly appreciated getting Jason’s POV and Alex was still adorable. Even the kitten finally got a kitten-appropriate page time. Now I’m off to the final book to see how the mystery arc gets concluded. ( )
